1. Which celebrity do you think you look like?
“Unity is strength...when there is teamwork and collaboration, wonderful things can be achieved.†This quote was written by Mattie Stepanik - poet, peace advocate and motivational speaker, who passed away at the age of 13 of a rare form of muscular dystrophy. Mattie was wise beyond his years! A true inspiration whose words resonate with a deeper meaning for what our world needs today.
2. Which do your prefer? Talking on the phone or texting?
Bringing people together! I’m the oldest of 6 and my husband Ted is the youngest of 9, so naturally we are used to entertaining crowds. Whether it’s through the community facilitating our “Parker Foundation†programs, or with our family at Thanksgiving hosting our annual pie competition…nothing makes us happier than creating opportunities for our family and others to come together, enjoy life and make memories.
3. What’s something you only do when you get bored?
I enjoy teaching people of all ages how to connect with others using their unique God given gifts and talents through volunteering with our non-profit. As an artist, I help children with special needs and their siblings learn how to make mosaics; we work together to make wonderful masterpieces! Not only am I teaching (and learning!) from the children, but WE are showing the world how people of all backgrounds and abilities succeed through teamwork.
4. Are you overly loyal to any clothing brands?
I would be as old as I am. I am proud of the experiences that have made me who I am - right here, right now. In life I’ve learned: I must fail to succeed, to never give up for what I believe in, and to always keep my sense of childlike wonder. I am blessed and thankful for each beautiful day on this earth with my sweet family by my side!
5. What is the biggest risk you have ever taken?
Ted and I both love the water, and Florida’s Indian River is our backyard! Our favorite date night is a boat ride down the Intracoastal - listening to our favorite tunes and stopping to visit friends or have a bite to eat at one of our favorite local restaurants. Boating is an adventure, which makes each date night a different and unique experience for us to navigate and enjoy together!
